e-Re-Issue For Matric Certificates: What Exactly Is e-Re-Issue For Matric Certificates? Documentation to back up your claim

During the online application procedure, electronic copies of the following supporting papers will be required:

For certificates that have been misplaced or destroyed:

  • An affidavit describing what happened to your certificate (i.e., if it was lost or destroyed);
  • The original national/ senior certificate (if it was damaged);
  • A certified copy of your identity document (ID);
  • Proof of payment

For a mixture of results:

  • Your examination results from all sessions;
  • A certified copy of your identification document;
  • Proof of payment

Application Cost

  • The cost for both a replacement certificate and combination of results is R141.00; payable via a bank/ATM deposit or EFT.
  • These fees are valid from 01 April 2021 until 31 March 2022.


A certificate takes four to six weeks to be issued. Applicants can track their applications using the reference number they got throughout the online application procedure.

Portal for e-Government

To access the Portal, you’ll need a Username and Password. So, if you haven’t already done so, kindly click on the “Sign Up/Register” page. To register, you’ll need your ID number or passport number (if you’re a foreigner), as well as your phone number and email address. After you’ve registered, you can log in with your e-mail address and password to use the Portal’s e-Services.

The e-Government Portal’s goal is to make government services available online, reduce the cost of doing so, streamline administrative processes, shorten turnaround times, and promote accountability and responsiveness.
